Dragon Boating

Dragon Boat Racing has ancient Chinese origins and its history has been traced back more than 2000 years. Manvers Lake & Dearne Valley Trust have recently acquired a number of dragon boats and hope to be able to offer this as a a group activity in the near future. 

Paddling a Dragon Boat at speed requires a high level of teamwork - in the largest boats a crew of 22 (20 paddlers, a helmsman and a drummer!) all have to work together in complete harmony. This makes it an ideal activity for team building events or just as part of a birthday party with a difference! R

Several members of our team are working towards becoming qualified to run Dragon Boat activities at Manvers Lake.
